Arsenal are set to lose one of their transfer targets to Watford as Pontus Dahlberg has reportedly chosen Watford ahead of Arsene Wenger’s side.
Pontus Dahlberg ,18, is set to sign a contract worth £3.3 million with Watford from IFK Göteborg. The Sweden Under-21 international has been tracked by the Gunners since the start of the season, but it seems the north London club have just been beaten by Watford in the race for the player.
Pontus who currently plays for Swedish club IFK Göteborg, is said to be joining Watford in January having accepted the terms and conditions with the English Premier League side.
According to Daily Mail, Watford coach Marco Silva believes the promising and technically gifted youngster will bring competition to the club’s goalkeeping department in the near future.
Arsenal still have hopes of getting the player if they successfully convince the player’s agent to make a U-turn before the January transfer window.
In other news, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil transfer rumours continue to wax stronger as Real Madrid have cemented their position in the race for Alexis Sanchez while Manchester United have decided the price they would like to pay for Ozil’s signature.
