Arsenal enter talks to hijack Manchester Utd’s £70m deal for striker after opening talks


Arsenal have taken their rivalry with Manchester United off the pitch and onto the transfer window as they are looking to steal a match on Jose Mourinho’s led side over a deal for Gareth Bale, this is according to report.

Bale has been continuously linked with a move away from Real Madrid since last summer and it appears that the Welsh winger wants to call time on his spell with Los Blancos. There are speculations that Real Madrid wants to offload the star following the series of injuries he has picked up.

Real Madrid failed to defend their La Liga title this season and some of their woes have been blamed on Bale who regardless has found the back of the net 11 times in 20 League appearance. The 28-year-old attracted huge interest from Manchester United last summer as Mourinho publicly laid bare his admiration for the star.

According Footbal-Talk who cited a a report from Teamtalk, Man United have already tabled a £70m bid to Real Madrid to secure the services of the star player.Mourinho is dissatisfied with the current state of his squad and he is looking to add firepower in his final third so as to be able to match Manchester City.

However, United will have to compete with Arsenal in order to sign the Welsh footballer as the same report has claimed that Arsenal have contacted Real Madrid over a potential move for the star.

Arsenal are currently lacking a naturally winger and Wenger is already looking to add a top-notch winger to his team next season.
