Although the board of Arsenal have created a stir with their continuous silence despite the current situation of the club, a major section of Arsenal fan base believe Arsenal’s problem is purely footballing, hence, the growing call for Arsene Wenger’s resignation.
For the fans who are divided, light may be at the end of the tunnel as the Mirror reports that Arsenal are looking to sign a sporting director despite resistance from Wenger and they have high on their wishlist Hoffenheim’s Alexander Rosen.
Rosen, 37, has been the brain behind the resurgence of Hoffenheim this season as their sporting director. The club have qualified for the Champions League and Rosen has been credited with the successes of the club.
Arsene Wenger has been solely responsible for the signing and sale of players at Arsenal which sees him buy players without the requisite quality needed. To divulge powers, Arsenal had Overmas and Michael Zorc initially named but it appears that Rosen have a better antecedent.
Rosen was involved in the sale of Roberto Firmino to Liverpool, which handed the Bundesliga club a whopping £26m profit. His propensity to make profit in the transfer market is a plus given that Arsenal likes to spend less to get more.
However, should a deal be completed for him, he’ll become the first ever sporting director of Arsenal.
No doubt there is the need for a Sporting director at the Emirates but i doubt Wenger has the credentials to continue to manage the club. He’s lacking in tactical prowess.
