Arsenal have been boosted in the race for Racing club star Lautaro Martinez as Inter Milan are reportedly out of the race for the player, according to report.
It is understood that the Serie A club made an offer worth €20million for the 20-year-old striker but their bid was rejected. The Amazurris might end their interest in his signature before the summer transfer window opens, leaving Arsenal in pole position for his signature, according to the Mirror.
Despite the report that Inter could pull out of the move for Martinez, the Gunners will face another competition from Liverpool who are said to be monitoring the youngster.
Liverpool manager JurgenKlopp is reportedly planning to bring the player to Anfield in the summer as he hopes to reinforce his team ahead of next season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s record-signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed to reporters that Henrikh Mkhitaryan played huge part in his move to the Emirates Stadium.
According to the Gabonese striker, Mkhitaryan who was his teammate during his time at Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, called him to ask if he would be joining the North London club.
“He called me a few times, he asked ‘will you come or not?’ I said ‘first you have to tell me if you sign or not’, Auba said.
The two players created an understanding between themselves while playing at the Westfalenstadion, and that was shown against Everton on Saturday when the Armenian assisted Aubameyang’s first goal for the club.
Bar any injury or illness, both players are certain to be in Wenger’s starting lineup when the Gunners battle Tottenham at the Wembley stadium on Saturday.
