North London club Arsenal are reportedly leading the race for Caglar Soyuncu who is also being targeted by host of Premier league giants including Liverpool and Chelsea.
The Gunners have been in talks with the player over a possible move to Emirates stadium this summer according to reports emanating from North London.
Arsenal’s defensive showings since the start of the campaign have been nothing to be happy about and Wenger is making move to find a lasting solution to the crisis before the commencement of the upcoming season.
The 68-year-old Frenchman made an offer for former Manchester United full-back Jonny Evans who currently plays for relegation-threatened WestBrom, but the manager fails in his attempt to lure the veteran defender to the Gunners.
Having seen his regular offers for the Northern Ireland international been rejected by West Brom, Wenger has now turned his attention to the 21-year-old Freiburg defender.
Soyuncu’s brilliant performance for the Bundesliga side has endeared him to many top European managers including José Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte. The report also suggests that AS Roma are keeping close tabs on Soyuncu’s progress at Freiburg and they could officially approach him this summer.
The Turkish defender is valued at £30m in the summer but he might be difficult to snatch from Freiburg’s radar.
