Arsenal advance talks to sign £16.20m-rated Kante’s replacement, Liverpool and Man United linked

Following the shake up in the team of Arsenal during the January transfer window, we have a seen slight improvement in their display and Wenger is poised to improve upon his team in the summer transfer window. According to latest report, Arsenal have advanced talks to sign Nigerian and Leicester City marksman Wilfried Ndidi.

The Foxes struggled to replace N’golo Kante since he left them for Chelsea in the penultimate season but since Ndidi joined from Belgian outfit Genk for around £18million in the January 2017, Leicester have been more stable, with credit given to the Nigerian DM.

Since Patrick Vieira left Arsenal, the Club has struggled to find a player in his stead but Alexander Song did well during his time. The Gunners currently lack a maverick DM and Ndidi is certainly one that may be able to step into the big boots of Vieira.

Ndidi, 21, has also caught the attention of Premier League money bags Liverpool and Manchester United but Arsenal are believed to be in pole position to sign him.

Confirming the report, a source close to Ndidi laid bare Arsenal’s interest in the player.

“There has been so much interest in him.

“He is going to be a top player and Arsenal have been in contact. They want to sign him this summer.

“Arsene Wenger is a manager he admires a lot and his friend Alex Iwobi has told him lots of great things about the club.

“But there is no shortage of offers. Liverpool have shown strong interest and United.”

Manchester United are already preparing for life without Michael Carrick who is expected to retire at the end of the season while Liverpool’s interest stems from Emre Can’s refusal to pen a contract extension.

Arsenal are expected to busy in the transfer window of the summer and signing a DM has been made a priority by the Club.

He is currently valued at £16.20m according to transfermarkt.
