Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte has come out to praise Manchester City After their 2-1 win over Southampton yesterday.
It took Manchester City 96 minutes before they could get the winning goal, thanks to a late Raheem Sterling goal over the Saints in a thrilling encounter on Wednesday.
“They won again at the end [96th minute],” he said.
According to Conte, Manchester city do not give up easily this season; they trust themselves to win matches.
“I have a great respect for a team that doesn’t give up until the end,” Antonio Conte confessed to reporters.
Raheem Sterling is fast becoming Manchester City’s regular late goalscorer. He recently scored a late winning goal against Huddersfield and Bournemouth. He also scored a last-minute goal against Southampton yesterday.
Antonio Conte further commended Raheem Sterling’s recent heroic display.
“I remember another game against Bournemouth and Huddersfield. Sterling is very
dangerous,” he admitted.
Chelsea were able to overcome Swansea’s challenge by a lone goal on Tuesday night. Antonio Conte who was sent to the stands during the match believes his team are improving after a difficult start to the season.
“We have to go game by game and we are improving from the season.”
The League Champions are 11 points adrift Manchester City but Conte has claimed that if Chelsea buys players on the January transfer window then they will be able to give City a run for their money.
Chelsea will be in action on Saturday at home to Newcastle.
