Antonio Conte has insisted that Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard is happy and willing to play for the Blues despite rumours linking him with a move to Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is a longtime admirer of the 27-year-old player, and he’s doing everything possible to ensure that he secures his signature before the end of the month.
It was reported yesterday via Spanish media outlet Don Balon that the Belgian midfielder is desperately considering leaving the West London club for Real Madrid as long as Zidane remains as the Los Blancos’ manager.
Speaking during a pre-match conference on Tuesday, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said the Belgian is happy playing for the Premier League defending Champions. He further declared that Hazard will remain at Chelsea until his contract with the Blues expires in 2020.
“I can speak about my player and, as you know very well, Eden is an important player for us.
“Eden is very happy to stay here, to work for this club. “And we want to try to give satisfaction to our fans. I’m sure about this. For sure, Eden is an important player for us.”
Eden Hazard joined Chelsea in 2012, and he has become an integral part of the team since his arrival. It is becoming more glaring that the Belgian’s departure away from West London isn’t a matter of ‘if’, but a matter of ‘when’.
Chelsea have also been considering replacements for the fine attacker, however, they are limited on options. They might have to keep Brazilian winger Willian until the summer to see how transfers pan out.
He is valued at 100,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
