Arsenal striker Stephy Mavididi, who was on loan to Charlton Athletic has returned back to the Emirates stadium for treatment after picking up an eight-week hamstring injury in last weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Oxford.
The player who was lively throughout the time he spent on the pitch was injured in the second half of the game, and was substituted before the end of the game.
According to the Addicks’ coach Karl Robinson, Mavididi injury was as the same as the one he picked up during last season. The manager further confirmed that it wasn’t a relapse of the former injury as he was freshly injured on Saturday.
“The injury is the same side as the one he had last season, however, it is in a different place and not a repeat of the same injury,” he said.
The coach further told news shopper that the youngster will be taken to Arsenal’s medical team to confirm the intensity of the injury.
“Our medical team are currently in close liaison with the medical team at Arsenal regarding his treatment and rehabilitation,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Lacazette could be on Wenger’s starting lineup against Tottenham on Saturday. The Frenchman was dropped to the bench by Wenger in last week’s 5-1 victory over Everton in order to give space for Aubameyang’s full debut.
According to report via Sky Sports, the Frenchman could be in the team while Alex Iwobi might be dropped to the substitute bench.
Arsenal will hope to defeat the Lilywhites so as to stand a chance to reduce the gap between them and their local rivals.
