There are reports of Arsene Wenger already tipping a replacement for himself and with his resignation already looming, Arsenal may have started putting structures in place for the departure of the French gaffer.
Last week, Arsenal confirmed the appointment of former Borrussia Dortmund man, Sven Mislintat, as the new head of recruitment. Now, reports have indicated that Raul Sanllehi of Barcelona may just be on the verge of joining the Gunners.
Sanllehi stood down from his position at Barcelona as the director of football on Monday evening and he is highly likely going to be appointed to the same role for Arsenal next month, claims the Daily Mail.
The 48-year-old was credited with luring the likes of Neymar Jr and Luis Saurez to Camp Nou while serving under three different regimes.
Arsenal transfer chief negotiator Dick Law threw in the towel in September and the position has been left vacant since then. Last summer, the Gunner made some appointment to their back room staffers and they have continued in the same stead this time.
Wenger has solely been in charge of picking the players he wants to work with and if responsibilities are not shared, the club will suffer when he eventually quits.
Arsenal have been unable to get Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to extend their contracts and they may be forced to look for quality replacements for the stars.
