It is a fact that Jose Mourinho has bolstered Manchester United, but their defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday revealed that the squad is a short of one or two World Class players to become very formidable and competitive.
According to latest reports, Man United have advanced negotiations to sign Real Madrid duo Isco and former Tottenham Hostpur man Gareth Bale.
Mourinho is looking to bring back the wing play predominantly favoured by Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United but his current crop of players have been unable to produce the desired outcome.
Mourinho had revealed after the signing of Alexis Sanchez that he would look to bolster other aspect of his squad of the lure of having Bale in his side has greatly appealed to him. Bale is currently out of favour with the Madrista and reports have indicated that Florentino Perez has sanctioned his sale to Man United.
Manchester Evening News via Don Balon reports that Madrid are looking to fund the big money move of Mauro Icardi and Harry Kane and they have decided on Selling Isco and Bale to offset payments for their incoming players.
Michael Carrick is expected to quit football at the end of the season and his departure will create a dip in the midfield of the Red Devils. Should the deal for Isco goes through, he will be not just be a replacement for Carrick but an improvement over the star.
Isco is also heavily linked with a move to Manchester City but at United he is likely to get more playing time.
United will have to fork out as much as €170m to sign the duo.
