The dad of an Arsenal target has affirmed that the Gunners are the only option for his son.
French player Nabil Fekir will ply his trade at the Emirates Stadium if he ever leaves Lyon, according to his dad.
After Alexandre Lacazette departed the Ligue 1 club, Fekir has been given the task to captain the side and he has done that impressively. The 24 year old has scored 12 goals in 15 appearances this season. He is havinghis best productive season to date.
The youngster has been linked to many clubs, with the Gunners looking like the favourite to seal the Frenchman’s signature.
Despite many European giants like Real Madrid and Barcelona looking to sign the impressive player, his dad has quickly quenched any flame in such transfer rumours, asserting that his son is only interested in joining Arsenal to work with fellow countryman Arsene Wenger.
According to the Mirror, the dad said, “Nabil would like to finish 1st or 2nd and play Champions League football with Lyon. If he leaves, it will be for Arsenal. It’s the only club that can enable him to progress, with Arsene Wenger.”
If Fekir eventually leaves Lyon for Arsenal, the Gunners will likely pay a similar fee of £50m like they did to prize away Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal are looking to sell Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in January and the imminent departure of the aforementioned stars will leave a deep in the attack of the Gunners, leaving them with no choice than to bolster their squad. Fekir could be the man.
