Arsenal youngster Tyreece John-Jules has signed his first professional contract with Club, this is according to latest reports.
Following the great prospect he has shown, Arsenal handed the 17-year-old striker his first professional contract. He signed a deal that will span the next two and half years and this is said to be the longest a player of his age has signed for Arsenal.
John-Jules has been a regular figure for the u18 and U23 side of Arsenal and he is fondly remembered this season for his goals against Liverpool and Middlesbrough in the Youth FA Cup.
The 17-year-old youngster has already bagged four goals in six games for the Gunners and the Club has tied him down.
The English striker laid bare his love for Arsenal and he has always idolised the Gunners legend Thierry Henry. After putting pen to paper on the deal deal, the star revealed that he wants emulate his aforementioned hero.
He told the Evening Standard. “Growing up, I idolised him because I used to follow him and Arsenal,”
“He only took us for two sessions because I was at Hale End at the time, and then he came up here and started coaching the under-18s.
“He taught me about movement and timing, and obviously gave me tips on finishing when we did striker drills.”
Arsenal have a very expansive youth policy where they have churned out many talented footballers. John-Jules will be hoping to break into the first team of the Gunners like Edie Nketiah, Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson and Alex Iwobi, who is a regular figure in the Gunners squad.
